Pan-Asia Water Law Training: Urgent Need for Transboundary Cooperation

Bangkok, Thailand | December 09, 2025 - The inaugural Pan-Asia Training on International Water Law (IWL) brought together more than a hundred experts, government officials, and water practitioners from across Asia for a week-long training held from 8 - 11 December 2025. Hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, the programme aimed to strengthen knowledge, legal capacity, and cooperation frameworks for managing shared water resources.

GWP-Med has long experience in implementing corporate water replenishment projects, helping companies like Coca-Cola meet their water replenishment targets through focused interventions. These technical water saving solutions are part of integrated programmes which also engage stakeholders in effective water governance, raise awareness and promote environmental education. Several projects incorporating technical water saving solutions have also been implemented as pilot demonstrations through funding by public donors.

Africa’s Pioneering AIP Model Inspires USD 20 Billion Water Investment Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean

The Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP) continues to inspire large-scale water-investment efforts across the world. Following calls from world leaders, including H.E. Ban Ki-moon, 8th UN Secretary-General, and H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, to replicate Africa’s proven model in other regions, momentum is now building for the USD 20 billion Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Water Investment Programme, set for launch in 2026.

African SIDS Blue Economy Project Showcased at the Africa Blue Economy Week in Addis Ababa

The African SIDS Blue Economy Project, a joint initiative supported by the Global Environment Facility, implemented by UNDP, and executed by the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, under the leadership of the African Union Commission as the focal custodian of the project, was showcased at the Africa Blue Economy Week taking place at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Africa Blue Economy Week took place from 23 to 25 September 2025.

Turkmen Specialists Study Innovative Approaches of Uzbek Colleagues in Water and Land Resource Management

For all Central Asian countries, the rational use of water and land resources remains among the most pressing priorities in adapting to climate change. As climate change in Central Asia advances at nearly twice the global average rate, there is an urgent need to intensify the exchange of experience among specialists across the region. Particular emphasis is placed on fostering communication and collaboration between experts from Innovation Centers and Techno Parks, which are recognized as the vanguard of scientific contributions to business acceleration.
