The 5th WACDEP Technical Coordination Workshop took place in Kigali, Rwanda, 23-28 September. GWP Chair Dr. Ursula Schaefer-Preuss took part in a Special Event hosted by the President of the UN General Assembly in New York on 25 September. The aim was to follow up on the efforts made to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to discuss the post-2015 agenda.

A Hungarian photograph has won the international Best Water Photo competition 2013. The photo competition took place in the frame of International Year of Water Cooperation 2013 and was organized by Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe.
The Global Water Partnership (GWP) will appoint up to three new members for its Technical Committee from January 1st, 2014.
The winner of the first IRF European River Prize is the Rhine River. The winner was announced at the European River Restoration Conference in Vienna on 12 September 2013. GWP is one of the organisers and financial sponsors of the prize.
During the last week of August, representatives from GWP from across the world gathered in Stockholm to discuss the strategies of the network, past and future.
