GWP and WMO's Associated Programme on Flood Management Launch HelpDesk

A HelpDesk for Flood Management will be launched on June 17 at the 2nd Meeting of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction. The HelpDesk will assist countries in implementing an integrated approach to flood management and will provide guidance on flood management strategy and policy.

The GWP Network comprises 13 Regional Water Partnerships. A Regional Water Partnership is comprised of all GWP Partners in a region. Representatives of Partners in a region may be a member of the regional Steering Committee (or equivalent).

Pilot training in Shu-Talas River Basin in Taras

30 November – 6 December 2009, Almaty and Taras, Republic of Kazakhstan

The training and workshop were an answer to regional and country needs of newly established River Basin Councils. The Centre of Cooperation for Sustainable Development (CCSD) requested GWP to provide assistance in the development of manual: Decision making procedures at River Basin levels and building capacities of River Basin Councils.
