In addition, the GWP Partner Hisaar Foundation and the Karachi Water Partnership, has launched an appeal to raise Rs 10 million for immediate flood relief, largely for the provision of safe drinking water.

In addition, the GWP Partner Hisaar Foundation and the Karachi Water Partnership, has launched an appeal to raise Rs 10 million for immediate flood relief, largely for the provision of safe drinking water.
GWP has joined the Sanitation and Water for All initiative as a Multilateral Partner, together with other GWP Partner organizations. Sanitation and Water for All aims to address the barriers to achieving universal and sustainable sanitation and drinking water for everyone, including poor water resources management.
At a regional workshop on financing the water sector in Central Africa, participants expressed the urgent need for investments in basin, national and regional organizations. In addition, participants validated the proposed regional strategy for financing the water sector and its mechanism as proposed by GWP Central Africa (GWP-CAf). One participant called the strategy “relevant, consistent and forward looking.”

The annual training course of liaison officers who are responsible for foreign affairs, and overseas visits, organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resources, was taken place on August 18 and 19, 2010, Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province.
The Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12, 2008 in Sichuan Province affected a large area and population in the province and the neighboring provinces particularly the Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, and it also jeopardized the water supply facilities, particularly, in rural areas. The reconstruction of the rural water facilities is one of key projects of Chinese government.
The Menik Ganga Area Water Partnership (AWP) together with local and temple authorities, local traders and youth groups helped protect water supplies during the one-week Sella Kataragama festival in July.
