While pollution problems have long been acknowledged in the Okavango Delta, it was the Botswana IWRM-WE Plan project (facilitated by GWP Botswana, led by Botswana's Department of Water Affairs, and funded by UNDP GEF) which brought stakeholders and institutions together to act on the issue. This contrasted with the isolated, ad hoc project and departmental actions that had gone before.

On May 18, 2011, a report was launched on improving water resources management in Kaliningrad, Russia.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) member, Ms. Judy Daniel is one of only thirty persons from across the globe that has been awarded a scholarship through the 2012 GWP-University of Dundee International Water Law (IWL) Scholarship Programme. The scholarship will enable her to undertake a module in International Water Law at the University of Dundee in Scotland from June 11^th -29^th, 2012.

The Regional Steering Committee is the decision-making body of GWPSA. It approves the annual work plan, monitors current on-going activities and provides guidance on all work areas, including the political aspects that water management may entail in the Southern African region.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) with the support of its partner, the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES) of The University of the West Indies (UWI) Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, spearheaded the first-ever Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Knowledge Management Workshop to be held in the Caribbean.
