South Africa started its internal broad stakeholder engagement process on Water in the Post 2015 Development Agenda earlier this year. The first stakeholder workshop was held in Durban from 19-20 February 2013. A second workshop, was held in Irene, Gauteng on 4th April 2013.
The global focus on the threats posed by climate change has drawn attention to the fact that water will be the medium through which many of its impacts will be felt. In addition to the direct impacts of damaging floods and interruptions to water supply due to drought, a particular concern in many regions is the threat to food security, driven by changing rainfall patterns and increased aridity.
Workshop on Groundwater Development and Utilization in Jinghui Canal Irrigation Area was taken place in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. The workshop was sponsored by the GWP China Shaanxi, co-sponsored by Shaanxi Provincial Water Resources Department,Shaanxi Provincial Hydraulic Engineering Society and Shaanxi Provincial Irrigation Systems Association on June 22, 2011.
