In an opening day address at World Water Week in Stockholm, GWP Chair Letitia A Obeng urged decision makers to recognize that using an integrated approach to water management can help solve a wide range of water issues related to current environmental, social and economic challenges.

The Workshop on Global Climate Change and Water Resources Management in China was held on 13-17 May, in Changsha, Hunan Province.

This paper considers the value of an IWRM approach for urban water management. It focusses on institutional design, decision-making, governance, and implementation practice, but also considers appropriate management tools. This is a Technical Background Paper, written by the GWP Technical Committee, a group of internationally recognised professionals in integrated water resources management.

GWP West Africa will be holding its General Assembly on 10-11 May in Lomé, Togo.
