The theme of the 4th Africa Water Week 14-18 May in Cairo, Egypt, is “Water for Growth in Africa, AMCOW’s Journey @10”. The Global Water Partnership will be launching the AMCOW/GWP Strategic Framework material. Caribbean Ministers with responsibility for water, along with regional water managers and other experts, met to discuss “Water Management Financing in the Caribbean” at the GWP Caribbean and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association’s (CWWA) 7th Annual High Level Session (HLS) on October 6-7, 2011, in Guadeloupe. One of the major issues at the Ministerial Forum was the need for regional governments to decide whether water utilities are to be run as a social service or a business.
Participants at the High-Level Roundtable on Water Resources Management System Development in China, organised in April 2012 by GWP China, discussed the setting up of a water resources management system with well-defined duties, rights and responsibilities, standard and collaborative operations, and coordination mechanisms for river basin and regional development, using the IWRM approach.

GWPSEA Program Coordinator – Mr. Djoko Sasongko, was invited by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Regional Office, to participate in a Regional Consultation Workshop, which was held in Winsor Suites Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop is a part of a study initiated and organized by FAO, funded by IFAD and implemented by AIT as consultant
