Aqua Vitae is a Latin American non-profit magazine, specializing in water and sanitation which seeks to raise awareness of the challenges of water resources management and to propose innovative alternatives for their care. As part of its response to last year’s devastating floods in the country, GWP Pakistan organised on 12 January 2011 a one-day seminar on water security in the face of climate change, with the support of the government’s Planning Commission and the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
Four positions on the GWP Steering Committee (SC) will become vacant after the next Steering Committee Meeting in May 2009. Of these two will be selected from the nominees of the GWP regions and two from the self nominated global pool.
The GWP submitted its pledge to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The First Preparatory Meeting for Rio+20, which will discuss the substantive themes, will be held from May 17-19, 2010 at the United Nations ECOSOC in New York.
The position serves (i) the entire GWP network by developing and overseeing the organisation’s web presence to ensure that web technology enhances the GWP mission; and (ii) the GWP Secretariat by planning and implementing the use of information technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and knowledge management.
