Country Water Partnerships

GWP SAS currently represents six Country Water Partnerships (CWPs) in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. These Country Water Partnerships are independent and autonomous organisations brought together with the common objective of promoting Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the region.

Capacity building for the Benin WASH Alliance

The  Members of the Benin WASH alliance composed of national and international NGOs involved in the water and sanitation sector in the country, the country Coordinator and Dutch partners of WASTE and ICCO followed this workshop held from 25 to 28 February 2013.

Revamp of the African Water Information System (AWIS)

The African Water Information System (AWIS) is a network of African organizations that aim to establish a platform to share information and knowledge a wide audience . A pilot followed by an expansion phase of this system was carried out from March 2007 to March 2010.

Legal Framework (A2)

Legal frameworks play an important role in the management of water resources at a range of scales – from local and national legislation covering domestic use, to international treaties that govern waters shared by sovereign nations.

GWP at COP18

GWP will participate at the COP18 in Doha in Qatar, 3-7 December, to continue advocating for the importance of water resources management in adapting to the effects of climate change.

Promoting Transboundary Cooperation in Southern Africa

Sharing sub-regional experiences on water cooperation and learning about designing and conducting negotiations on transboundary water-related issues were the topics of a SADC/ UNESCO workshop to “Promote Cooperation and Conflict Prevention in Transboundary Water Resources” on 25-27 February, 2013 in Gaborone, Botswana.
