The Nigerien delegation was received on December 22, 2022 by the Minister of Environment, Water and Sanitation, Dr. Augustin KABORE. The Secretary General of the Ministry, Dr. KOUANDA had received the delegation on December 19. Discussions focused on IWRM and the management of the climate change issue, among others.
The Water Scarcity Program (WSP) was developed by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization with support from the Australian Government to support countries in Asia-Pacific in taking practical steps to address and manage water scarcity under rapid population growth and in a changing climate. The WSP specifically aims to provide technical and policy support to help countries ensure that agricultural water use is managed in a sustainable and productive manner under increasing water scarcity, thereby contributing to water security, food security, resilient rural livelihoods, and prosperity in across Asia-Pacific with an additional focus on achieving SDGs 2 and 6.
From 30 September to 2 October 2024, Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP SEA), represented by our Interim Regional Coordinator, Mrs Louise Desrainy Maryonoputri, received a sponsorship to participate in the Drought Resilience +10 Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, at the WMO Headquarters.

The study tour of the IFAS working group (WG) to the Commission on the Mekong River organized by the Central Asian Water and Energy Program, managed by the World Bank and the OECD, was held from 2 to 7 April 2023.
The GIZ, GWPSA, and Lesotho Integrated Catchment Management (ICM) Coordination Unit (CU) undertook a learning exchange mission in Zambia from 24th to 28th October 2022, to capture best practices and experiences in catchment protection and restoration in the country. This engagement was aimed at the technical public service directors and heads of mandated institutions responsible for water, land, meteorology, local government, environment, food, and agriculture.

The Government of Zambia has launched its National Adaptation Plan (NAP), a long-term Strategic Plan formulated to address identified risks and vulnerabilities in various sectors to enhance Zambia's resilience to the impacts of climate change. The NAP was developed in partnership with GWP which provided technical and project management support and the Green Climate Fund funded the development process. The NAP, launched on Tuesday, 14 November in Lusaka.
