World Water Day 2012 was celebrated on 22nd March under the theme of "Water and Food Security: The World is Thirsty Because We are Hungry". CANCUN. Over the weekend, six countries from around the world at COP16, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Cancun, called for water to be put on the climate agenda. The countries highlighted the fact that climate change stands to have a significant impact on water resources, and stressed the need for further discussions on how this issue can be addressed within the climate framework.

PRESS BRIEFING on Wednesday September 8, 2010 at Stockholm World Water Week, Press Room at 13:00 hrs where the Global Water Partnership launches a report about GWP’s work developing IWRM plans in Africa, “Water Security for Development”.Until the world puts water at the top of the development agenda, efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals will falter.
The idea of a Regional Climate Outlook Forum (RCOF) originated out of a workshop entitled “Reducing Climate-related Vulnerability” held in Southern Africa in October 1996. Almost a year later, towards the end of 1997, the first RCOF was held in Zimbabwe in Southern Africa where the idea was birthed.
Twenty (20) practitioners from the Agriculture Sector in Barbados, recently had the opportunity to be trained in the area of Water Use Efficiency (WUE) at a workshop put on by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and its partner, the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI).

The Conference of the Water Directors of the Euro-Mediterranean and Southeastern European Countries that was held in Bled, Slovenia, on 10-11 December 2007, is the fourth such meeting in sequence.
