GWP China Shaanxi, jointly with Drinking Water Safety Center of MWR, Shaanxi CHES, WWF Beijing Office, and with support of Shaanxi People’s Congress General Office, Shaanxi Provincial Water Resources Department, Hanzhong City Government, held “Post-quake Water Facilities Reconstruction Session” on November 11 to 13, 2009 in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province.

 The meeting was held under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Senegal and honored with the effective presence of the President of the Senate, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Economic and Social Council, the Prime Minister and the Minister for Energy of the Republic of Senegal, as well as of the Minister for Energy and Water of the Republic of Mali, the Minister for Hydraulics and Sanitation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Vice-Mayor of Dakar and the High-Commissioner of OMVS.

Caribbean Ministers Endorse Innovative Ways of Managing Water

Caribbean Ministers with responsibility for water, along with regional water managers and other experts, met to discuss “Water Management Financing in the Caribbean” at the GWP Caribbean and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association’s (CWWA) 7th Annual High Level Session (HLS) on October 6-7, 2011, in Guadeloupe. One of the major issues at the Ministerial Forum was the need for regional governments to decide whether water utilities are to be run as a social service or a business.
