In May 2011, the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) signed a World Bank contract to produce their online training modules to assist small farmers to effect change against risks related to agricultural production in the Caribbean region.
Cameroon lies between 2° and 13° north latitude and between 8° and 16° east longitude in west central Africa. The country has a total land area of about 475,440 sq. km and a coastline of 402 km and its climate varies with the terrain. This is characterized by high year-round temperatures and the weather is controlled by equatorial and tropical air masses.
Ghana lies along the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa. The country extends inland to about latitude 11° north covering a distance of 672 km from south to north.
Water is central to Africa's development. To implement the climate change commitments in the Sharm el Sheikh Declaration and address the threat of climate change in Africa, the management of water resources must move to the top of the development agenda. This is the overall goal of the Water, Climate and Development Programme for Africa, that runs from May 2011 to April 2016.
The Chisinau city action plan, formally adopted in December 2010, involved multi-faceted consultations between urban planners, water authorities, transport agencies, monitoring institutes, universities, and other important stakeholders, all with their own interests and technical vocabularies. As a neutral facilitator, GWP Moldova helped this diverse set of stakeholders realize that good water management is important for all.
For the first time, GWP Central America signed an agreement with a regional development bank to advance IWRM as an essential approach for water security, climate change and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals in the region.
