GWP China addressed issues connected to climate change, flood control and use of rainwater in a workshop held in Baoding, in the Hebei Province, on 26-27 November 2013.

Steadily shrinking for decades due to unsustainable irrigation policies, the Aral Sea is under increasing pressure, making both allocation and availability major challenges. Action has been taken and the Basin Economic Allocation Model has been developed as a long-term decision support system to facilitate putting “value on water use”. This demonstrates that economic models can be applied to assess economic value maximization of different water uses.

At the 8^th Annual High Level Session (HLS) of Caribbean Water Ministers, convened by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and its partner the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) in October 2012, nine Caribbean Ministers including two Deputy Prime Ministers present at the Session, recommended that GWP-C and its partners develop a Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean.

The situation analysis for Bugesera transboundary catchment under the Water, Climate and Development Program (WACDEP) kicked off Wednesday, 21st November 2012 in Bugesera, borderline between the two countries.

GWP CACENA has contributed to the Post-2015 Development Agenda through National Stakeholder Consultations on Water held in CACENA countries: Georgia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The GWP’s annual Consulting Partners Meeting and the Regional Days were held from June 23 to 28 in Port of Spain, the capital of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, sponsored by the GWPO and organized by the GWP Caribbean Region. The delegation of the GWP China was sent to participate in all the events and the discussions.
