PRESASS 2024 was organized, from 22 to 26 April 2024 in Abuja, Nigeria, by the AGRHYMET Regional Climate Center for West Africa and the Sahel (AGRHYMET RCC-WAS) of CILSS, in collaboration with ACMAD, the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (SNMHs), the WMO and West African River Basin Organizations.
The Global Water Leadership Program-Rwanda launched a response strategy aims at strengthening water resilience in Rwanda in the event held on 22 March 2024 at Radisson Blu Kigali. The Regional Initiative for Water and Sanitation in the Mono cross-border basin (RIWE-Mono) aims to restore ecosystems, improve the living conditions of people living along the river and promote concerted, sustainable management of natural resources, while strengthening cross-border cooperation between the two countries (Benin and Togo) that share this watercourse.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is supporting the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) to shape the future of water management across the CARICOM Region. GWP-C is the consulting agency for the Integrating Water, Land and Ecosystems Management in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (GEF-IWEco) Project; one that is important to develop a comprehensive Regional Action Framework for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
Tangible results concerning the significant reduction of water for irrigation, productivity increase, energy savings, along with the formulation of a shared vision and policy recommendations for future upscaling of the WEFE Nexus approach in Tunisia were the key highlights of the final Multistakeholder workshop of the ACCISI-GEM (Adapting to Climate Change Impacts through Smart Irrigation and WEFE Nexus Approach) project that took place on 26 February 2025 in Bizerte, Tunisia.
On 16-17 April, OECD and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) are co-convening the 12th Roundtable on Financing Water “Strengthening the sustainability of water investments: alternative financing approaches and models” takes place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
