Pakistan is grappling with one of the most severe flood emergencies in recent history. Since 26 June, relentless monsoon rains have triggered widespread flash floods across the country, severely impacting the provinces of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, and Sindh.
On 7–8 October 2025, water professionals and practitioners gathered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a hands-on workshop aimed at strengthening national capacity in river water quality management. The two-day training was jointly organized by the Malaysian Water Partnership (MyWP), the Global Water Partnership Malaysia (MyGWP), and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia, with implementation support from the MyGWP Secretariat, DID Malaysia, and a hired consultant and trainer.
Between December 2025 and January 2026, Global Water Partnership Hungary (GWP Hungary) actively contributed to national and international water governance processes, with a strong focus on youth engagement and regional cooperation in the Danube River Basin.
