On 3rd November a ‘Water Day’ will be held alongside the Climate Change negotiations in Barcelona. The day is being convened by the GPPN, a partnership of Stakeholder Forum and Stockholm International Water Institute, in collaboration with UN Water
The idea of a Regional Climate Outlook Forum (RCOF) originated out of a workshop entitled “Reducing Climate-related Vulnerability” held in Southern Africa in October 1996. Almost a year later, towards the end of 1997, the first RCOF was held in Zimbabwe in Southern Africa where the idea was birthed.
At the invitation by UKDFID Beijing Office, Mr. Zheng Rugang, Coordinator of GWP China, attended Summary Meeting of China-UK Water Demand Management Project. The organizers of the meeting also invited representatives from World Bank, UNDP, EU-China River Basin Management Project, Australia- China Environmental Management Project and some project pilot provinces.
The Workshop on Global Climate Change and Water Resources Management in China was held on 13-17 May, in Changsha, Hunan Province.
