The Workshop on Low-carbon Economy and Rational Use of Water Resources was held jointly by GWP China Hebei and Hebei Senior Scientists Association in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province on October 11, 2010 with support by GWP China, Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Association, Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources and Hebei Provincial Power Grid Corporations.
On behalf of GWP China, Mr. Zheng Rugang, Executive Secretary of GWP China; Ms. Ma Yilin, Programme Officer of GWP China and Dr. Yin Junxian, Senior Engineer of China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research attended CP Meeting and World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden from August 15 to 21, 2009.
The Yellow River Forum, gathering around 1500 participants from 61 countries, was hosted in Zhenzhou, capital of Henan Province, 20-23 October, 2009 to discuss around the theme of “Ecological Civilization and River Ethics”.
In order to enhance countermeasures for extraordinary typhoon or rainstorms attributed to extreme climate in Fujian Province, GWP China Fujian, together with Fujian Provincial Department of Water Resources, Fujian Provincial CHES Disaster Control Committee, held Workshop on Countermeasures for Extreme Climatic Events in Coastal Areas on December 16, 2009 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province.

This was the third time in the history of GWP CACENA when the region met in Kyrgyzstan. Halfway through the year the regional work plan had to be changed and the Annual Stakeholders Conference (Regional CP) was cancelled, due to uncertainties in the funding of the Work Plan.
The RC meeting was attended by council members and partly by regional TEC member from all eight countries participated in the meeting.
African gouvernments and river basin authorities will improve their planning and management capacities where water and climate change adaptation are concerned.
The programme aims to integrate water security and climate resilience in development planning processes, build climate resilience, and support countries to adapt to a new climate regime through increased investments in water security.
Meetings of local water partnerships in June 2010 gave community groups in 45 villages in the Ramial and Indrajeet basins opportunities to present on-the-ground water issues that concerned them to revenue, irrigation, and agriculture and fisheries officials.
