Sustainable development requires multi-stakeholder partnerships. That is the message of a new report on water security in Africa published by the Global Water Partnership.
In May, 2012, Global Water Partnership China Hebei conducted investigation and studies in four cities and nine counties.
Caribbean Ministers with responsibility for water, along with regional water managers and other experts, met to discuss “Water Management Financing in the Caribbean” at the GWP Caribbean and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association’s (CWWA) 7th Annual High Level Session (HLS) on October 6-7, 2011, in Guadeloupe. One of the major issues at the Ministerial Forum was the need for regional governments to decide whether water utilities are to be run as a social service or a business.
GWP Caribbean has contributed to improving water use efficiency in the agricultural sector in the twin-island state by providing training and a technical resource manual.
To initiate water resources management for further sustainable development in the Nam Ngum River Basin and to present / identify step forward for Nam Ngum river basin demonstration project implementing on integrated water quality management involving stakeholders as well as provinces, districts and local communities are the objectives of the workshop.

Costa Rica is making progress in expanding access to water supply and sanitation, but the sector faces challenges when it comes to sanitation connections, poor service quality, and low cost recovery.
