During the Horizon Europe SpongeWorks second General Assembly, participants were updated about the project's achievements, witnessed first hand the implementation of sponge measures in the French demonstrator and provided input on the way forward. GWP-Med received the Outreach and Impact award for its impactful communication of the project's activities.

As part of the “Regional Initiative for Water and Environment in the Transboundary Mono River Basin (RIWE-Mono, 2024–2028)”, the Mono Basin Authority (MBA), in collaboration with the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA), organized on September 22, 2025, a national workshop dedicated to amending the draft report of the Methodological Guide for the development and implementation of the Mono Basin Water Charter.

18 September 2025, Gaborone, Botswana: The Southern African Development Community (SADC), in collaboration with the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho and with the support of the German Government through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), will host the 11th SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue in Maseru, Lesotho, from 29 to 30 September 2025.
