Gender mainstreaming in Côte d’Ivoire

The Ivorian government has initiated a study on the integration of the gender approach in the water sector in the Ivory Coast. The objective of the study is to make a thorough analysis of the integration of the gender approach in the water sector in the country.

Ivory Coast: Improving business climate and agricultural production

    The CWP Ivory Coast was asked to get involved in the World Bank project on "Improving the Business Climate in Agriculture in Côte d’Ivoire. The project focuses on laws and regulations that govern the activity and the actors of the agricultural sector in 40 countries, including Côte d'Ivoire.

    China: Yangtze River Basin Climate Change Adaptation and Vulnerability (#403)

    The Yangtze River Basin has been severely affected by climate change. To address this, the Yangtze River Basin Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Report has been drafted to evaluate the impact on representative ecosystems and water resources, and pinpoint adaptation strategies. The experience has demonstrated that good adaptation measures should consider not only climate itself, but also other factors, such as economy, technology, as well as social and cultural norms.

    The Volta River Basin is one of the largest river systems in Africa covering an area of approximately 400,000 km2. The river basin stretches from latitude 5o 30' N in Ghana to 14o 30' N in Mali.

    International Roundtable on “Integrated Shared Lake Basin Management in Southeastern Europe"

    Ohrid, FYR Macedonia, 12-14 October 2006

     

    Organized jointly by GWP-Med and the Lake Ohrid Watershed Committee, with the support of GEF IW:LEARN Activity D2, the International Roundtable will address issues of integrated management of lake basins and the linkages to connected river basin, groundwater and coastal management. The overall aim is the promotion of cooperation for the management of the transboundary water bodies of the South Western Balkan Peninsula region.
