The preparation of the Buna/Bojana Transboundary Integrated Management Plan aims to assist in identifying steps towards the reduction of pollution and the preservation of biodiversity in the area. The approval of the IWRM Strategic Action Plan for the Congo Basin by the International Commission for the Congo-Oubangui-Sangha basin (CICOS) in late 2010 paves the way for realising the vast potential of the catchment.
GWP China-Fujian, with support from the Fujian Provincial Water Resources Department, carried out a survey on water resources, including rural drinking water safety. The purpose of the investigation was to ensure an integrated and sustainable approach to water resources management for the planned construction of an economic zone.

Prof Mathias Fru Fonteh, Chair of GWP Cameroon, was appointed by the Prime Minister in September to be the Director in charge of hydraulics and hydrology in the Ministry of Energy and Water. Prof Fru Fonteh is one of the five founding champions of GWP Central Africa.
