The Global Water Partnership - Caribbean (GWP-C) has re-opened its Call for Project Proposals - Grant Funding for Small-Scale Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM) Capacity Building Projects in the Caribbean.
Project to support the operationalization of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) to strengthen resilience to climate change in transboundary basins in West Africa (PAGIREC- AO), this is the title of the funding request whose validation of the detailed request motivated the restricted technical regional workshop organized on December 14 and 15, 2023 in Ouagadougou by the Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment (DAREN) of the WAEMU Commission, in collaboration with the Water Resources Management Centre (CGRE) of the ECOWAS Commission and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA).
On September 19, 2024, marking the celebration of National Science Day 2024, the Yellow River Lecture was triumphantly held within the esteemed premises of 80 students from Zhengzhou No. 47 Junior High School, embracing the central theme, "Enhancing Public Comprehension of Scientific Knowledge and Fostering Contributions to a Technological Powerhouse."
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, GWPSA, is providing technical support toward the development of 8 national funding concept notes, 3 transboundary projects, and 2 multi-country funding proposals aimed at accelerating WEF investments in the region.
The following address was given by HE Jakaya Kikwete, former President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Chair: Global Water Partnership Africa Coordination Unit, at the closing ceremony of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal on 25 March 2022. The address followed the formal announcement of the International High-Level Panel on Water Investment for Africa by HE Macky Sall, President of Senegel, at the same event.
Kenya Water Partnership coordinated the development of a Catchment-wide Action Plan for the Protection and Conservation of the Ewaso Ng’iro North River Basin. The action planning is part of the pilot project launched by UNEP, GWP and Cap-Net focusing on three target countries (Kenya, Kazakhstan and Argentina)
The Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) Sponsoring Partners have selected Mr. Pablo Bereciartua, President of the Argentinean Engineering Centre (Centro Argentino de Ingenieros – CAI), as Chair of GWP. The appointment is effective July 1, 2022. Bereciartua currently serves as a member of the GWP Steering Committee.
May 9-10, 2023, the first China Water Hammer Conference was successfully held in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province, attracting hundreds of academicians, experts and scholars.
At the UN 2023 Water Conference, GWP joined partners to highlight the source-to-sea approach as a key holistic measure to achieve SDG 6 through new sectoral linkages, as well as SDG 13, 14 and 15.
