The "SDG6.5.1 Evaluation and Application Research at County Level" Programme is jointly hosted by the Global Water Partnership China (GWP China), the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China Country Office, and Coca-Cola China. Officially launched in January 2025, the Programme is implemented over a one-year period with the support of local authorities in Sichuan and Hunan provinces.
Brisbane, Australia | July 25, 2025 — It has been an inspiring and learning-filled week at the 20th World Lake Conference (WLC20) in Brisbane, Australia, where global experts gathered to discuss the future of lake ecosystems in the face of mounting environmental pressures.
A significant number of reservoirs and lakes in the Danube River Basin area have relevance in flood peak reduction. The countries in the river basin maintain contact and exchange of information only within bilateral cooperation. Therefore, first, there is a need for carrying out a comprehensive survey of the flood control practices and operational management of the reservoirs, and second to create a common platform for information exchange.
The Global Water Partnership and the World Meteorological Organization on Thursday, 22 May 2025, hosted a High-Level Dialogue in the context of the G20 to serve as a foundational consultation toward the establishment of the Global Outlook Council on Water Investments. In a collaborative effort to ensure the integrity and reliability of essential water infrastructure, GWP-C teamed up with Daniel and Daniel Engineering Inc. to conduct a comprehensive site inspection at the intake structure/dam and transmission/Distribution mains located in Mt. Granby, St. John. The seven-man technical team, assembled by Daniel and Daniel Engineering Inc., carried out the inspection under the expert guidance of retiree Michael “Freshy” Fleming.
