The launching of the new GEF Drin II Project marks a bold step forward in addressing the environmental and socio-economic challenges of the extended Drin River Basin.
The "SDG6.5.1 Evaluation and Application Research at County Level" Programme is jointly hosted by the Global Water Partnership China (GWP China), the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) China Country Office, and Coca-Cola China. Officially launched in January 2025, the Programme is implemented over a one-year period with the support of local authorities in Sichuan and Hunan provinces.
The Global Water Partnership and the World Meteorological Organization on Thursday, 22 May 2025, hosted a High-Level Dialogue in the context of the G20 to serve as a foundational consultation toward the establishment of the Global Outlook Council on Water Investments. Beijing, Dec.28-The 2025 Regional Partners Meeting of the Global Water Partnership China (GWP China) and the first meeting of its 5th Regional Council were held in Beijing on December 28, 2025.
In a collaborative effort to ensure the integrity and reliability of essential water infrastructure, GWP-C teamed up with Daniel and Daniel Engineering Inc. to conduct a comprehensive site inspection at the intake structure/dam and transmission/Distribution mains located in Mt. Granby, St. John. The seven-man technical team, assembled by Daniel and Daniel Engineering Inc., carried out the inspection under the expert guidance of retiree Michael “Freshy” Fleming.
Small holder farmers and pastoralists in Djibouti are increasingly exposed to climate risks, with recurrent droughts that continue to threaten food security and livelihoods. To help address this challenge, especially in the IGAD region, the DRESSEA project, funded by the Adaptation Fund through the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and implemented regionally by Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa (GWPEA), is supporting: Djibouti, Kenya, Sudan, and Uganda to produce regular, impact based drought bulletins.
