Tabletop Exercise on "Water Sector Knowledge Sharing and Transfer" for Caribbean SIDS”

The Global Water Partnership -Caribbean (GWP-c) hosted a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) for persons working in the Caribbean water sector on Thursday 16th November, 2023. The initiative was used to test and evaluate organizations’ response to a hypothetical scenario or a set of circumstances in a controlled and low-stress environment related to the water sector.

Modernizing the irrigation reservoir in Çorrush, Albania: A Cornerstone of Phase II WEFE Nexus Assessment under the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme

A pre-feasibility study on a reservoir in the Vjosa River Basin is under way within the framework of Phase II of the WEFE Nexus Assessment in Albania under the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme aiming to ultimately support the integration of the Water Energy Food Ecosystems Nexus approach into planning processes and management practices at the national level.

Closing the gap to access climate financing through capacity building on gender policy development of GCF Direct Access Entities in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka finds it challenging to achieve the overarching goal of the Paris Agreement mainly due to limited financing. The flexible financial solutions offered by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) plays a pivotal role in such instances, for the developing nations to access international climate financing. Yet, Sri Lanka has only one GCF accredited Direct Access Entity (DAE) which further reduces the opportunity to access adequate funding for climate action. The Global Water Partnership South Asia led 2nd Sri Lanka GCF Readiness Project facilitated workshop on Gender Policy Development and Gender Mainstreaming in GCF Activities held targeting pipeline DAEs resulted additional two nominated DAEs successfully submitting their applications to GCF.
