GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. GWP Regions

This is where you can find links to the websites of our Regional Water Partnerships (RWPs). RWPs are closest to the countries where we work. They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

WACDEP Partners Share Experiences in Workshop

The 5th WACDEP Technical Coordination Workshop took place in Kigali, Rwanda, 23-28 September. The main purpose was to share experiences and discuss the coordination of implementing WACDEP in the participating GWP regions and countries. WACDEP is a joint AMCOW-GWP programme on water, climate, and development.

GWP Participates in UN Event on Post-2015 Agenda

GWP Chair Dr. Ursula Schaefer-Preuss took part in a Special Event hosted by the President of the UN General Assembly in New York on 25 September. The aim was to follow up on the efforts made to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and to discuss the post-2015 agenda.

WACDEP Coordination Workshop Concluded in Rwanda.

The Water, Climate Development (WACDEP) Coordination Workshop that was taking place in Kigali, Rwanda from (23-28 September) concluded with a call to fast-track the implementation of the program and linking it with GWP strategy.

WACDEP Zimbabwe contributes to NCCRS review process

WACDEP Zimbabwe held a Catchments and Sub-Catchments Consultation and Action Planning Workshop from 12-13 September 2013, in Kadoma, about 140km south-west of Harare. The workshop with the aim of contributing towards the review and submission of written comments for the first draft of the National Climate Change Response Strategy for Zimbabwe (NCCRS) attracted over 65 participants (chairpersons from some of the 47 Sub-catchment and 7 Catchments in Zimbabwe, and officials from MWRDM and Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA). Best Water Photo 2013: Hungarian photograph wins first place

A Hungarian photograph has won the international Best Water Photo competition 2013. The photo competition took place in the frame of International Year of Water Cooperation 2013 and was organized by Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe.
