CWP Benin renews its establishment agreement in the country

The Minister of Justice and Legislation, Keeper of the Seals, proceeded to the signing ceremony and the official handing over of the framework agreement protocols with the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Benin and 18 other structures on Thursday 19 January 2023.

This framework agreement determines the framework of collaboration between the Beninese State and the NGO CWP Benin and sets out their obligations, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and termination procedures.

Thus, the State undertakes, among other things, to grant CWP’s expatriate staff administrative facilities for the issue of entry visas, residence permits and exit permits in accordance with the laws of the country.

In addition to technical and administrative support, the State grants exemption from taxes and duties on the import of materials and equipment, technical teaching aids, etc.

The agreement commits the CWP Benin, among other things, to comply with the objectives set out in its statutes in accordance with the country's laws.

Periodic meetings will be held between the two parties to monitor the implementation of the protocol, in particular through compliance with the commitments made by the CWP, verification of the validity of the exemptions requested, the use of activity reports and the annual evaluation of the socio-economic impact of the CWP’s activities.

The framework agreement is signed for a period of 3 years and its renewal is conditional on the CWP’s request being accepted by the State of Benin.
