Leveraging the intersectoral management of water resources for sustainable water security and peace, UNESCO brings together actors and partners to share innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The International Water Conference is held 13-14 May in Paris, France.

A virtual Workshop on financing transboundary water cooperation and basin development will take place on 16-17 December. The event, which is organised under the UNECE Water Convention’s activities framework, will discuss challenges and opportunities related to the financing of transboundary water cooperation and basin development.

In order to contribute to the reflections towards the adoption legal basis for the establishment and composition of Local Water Committees (LWCs) which are local body for water resource management in a river basin, CWP-Benin in collaboration with the General Directorate for Water (DGEau), organized on 28 and 29 January 2020 a workshop for exchanges on the establishment of Local Water Committees.

GWP-Med, representing on occasion also GWP, has been contributing to the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI)[1] since its launch in 2013. In this framework, GWP-Med participated in the 7^th meeting of the WGI held on 23-24 June 2016, in The Hague, the Netherlands. The meeting brought together some 80 representatives of organizations and institutions, members to the Initiative.
