The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Global Water Partnership (GWP) are increasing their long-standing cooperation to strengthen water resource management at a time when climate change, population shifts and environmental degradation are leading to more stress on water supplies and more water-related hazards.
The best way to tackle complex issues such as water resources management is for all affected stakeholders to work together. Multi-stakeholder processes are at the heart of IWRM and as such are a cornerstone of the intervention logic of the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
An innovative first of its kind workshop for Albania on Wastewater Management in the context of Circular Economy was organised in July 2022. It provided participants with a 360o view on the benefits and opportunities for synergies across sectors in the proper management of Wastewater.
Operated by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, the Funding Matchmaking Initiative aims to match country-defined priorities for water management improvements which are lacking financing or only have partial funding, with local funding sources, external donors and other funding agencies that have available financing but which are not currently investing in water management at the scale required or in the most coordinated manner.
The Global Water Partnership - Caribbean (GWP-C) has re-opened its Call for Project Proposals - Grant Funding for Small-Scale Integrated Water and Wastewater Management (IWWM) Capacity Building Projects in the Caribbean.
Organized by the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Environment Agency and the Water Research Institute, the Conference "Water Resource Protection 2019" will take place on 17-18 June 2019 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The Togo's Country Water Partnership (CWP) was set up in November 2006. Since its creation, this CWP has never been able to evolve well despite an apparently favorable environment to its development. The authorities and stakeholders in the institutional landscape of the water sector have been calling for the revitalization of the platform and the relaunching of its activities in order to contribute to finding solutions to strategic issues related to water management at different levels in Togo.
Leveraging the intersectoral management of water resources for sustainable water security and peace, UNESCO brings together actors and partners to share innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. The International Water Conference is held 13-14 May in Paris, France.
