The Ministry of Development, Energy, and Water Resources, with the support of the GWP-Central African Republic Country Office, organized the national launch of the “National Response Strategy for Resilient Water Resource Management in the Central African Republic.” The significant event, which was held on December 20, 2024, at the Oubangui hotel, brought together some one hundred participants representing ministries, technical and financial partners, NGOs, and members of GWL thematic working groups.
On 14-15 March, leaders from seven African, Middle Eastern and Asian countries including high-level delegates from UNICEF, the British High Commission in Malawi and the Global Water Partnership are meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi, to assess efforts made in the seven countries towards building more climate-resilient water services under the multi-partner Global Water Leadership (GWL) Programme.
The Global Water Partnership China (GWP China) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) co-hosted the inaugural event for the SDG6.5.1 Evaluation and Application Research at County Level Programme.
From May 24th to 25th, 2025, the grand finale of the 22nd National High School Student Water Technology Invention Competition for the Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2025 commenced with great splendor.
During the Horizon Europe SpongeWorks second General Assembly, participants were updated about the project's achievements, witnessed first hand the implementation of sponge measures in the French demonstrator and provided input on the way forward. GWP-Med received the Outreach and Impact award for its impactful communication of the project's activities.
On 18 November, a virtual meeting is held to present the findings of two surveys that were conducted to evaluate what the impact of the Governance and International Water Law Training has been, and to discuss the proposed new approach to sustain this initiative in the future.
