The High-Level International Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” will be held on 20-22 June in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Three main objectives guided the workshop's work: (1) to revitalize the Network, (2) to rework MAYI magazine issue 2, and (3) to revise the regional communication strategy of GWP CAf.
Capacity building – at the individual, institutional, and societal levels – is an important means to further IWRM principles and boost the overall quality of water governance structures. Capacity building essentially stands for a twofold process: (1) it is about understanding the obstacles that prevent the people, the organisations, or any other elements of an institutional framework from fully realizing their development goals; and (2) it is also concerned with finding the applicable mechanisms in overcoming these challenges and ultimately achieving better and more sustainable results.
The SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue is an event organised by the SADC Directorate of Infrastructure and Services, Water Division to provide a forum for practitioners in the region to have a dialogue with water using and water influencing sectors. The underlying objective is to ensure that the interventions in the water sector are well communicated to the non-water sector actors and also create an environment to receive inputs from them. An information and sharing workshop on an initiative for ecological water management to contribute to the scientific animation of the World Water Forum to be held in Dakar in March 2022. The aim is to support local elected officials in taking into account the ecological dimension of water in development policies.
From 04 to 07 January 2022, the CWP Senegal (PNES) through its Chair has carried out a mission to Matam in the framework of the implementation of the component : "Hydro-agricultural development and protection of water resources", of the development program of the Dioulol watershed implemented by the National Company for the Development and Exploitation of the lands of the Senegal River Delta (SAED) through activities to fight against the silting up of the Dioulol river, which constitutes the source of water for a large number of perimeters including Hamady Ounaré and Orkadiérè rehabilitated during the first phase of the project.
