Laurent-Charles Tremblay-Lévesque joined GWP as IWRM & Knowledge Management Specialist exactly one month ago. In his new role, he will develop and share tools and knowledge resources to help GWP’s Partners design and implement water-related strategies and projects aligned with the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). To mark World Toilet Day 2020, we asked him to share an experience from his previous role within the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector. He says that “toilets can help us fight climate change”.

The Chair of GP-WA, Prof. Amadou H. MAIGA and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE visited Senegal from 16 to 21 Novembre 2020 to support the Country Water Partnership (CWP) that is engaging new actions for a renewed dynamism. The chair of CWP Senegal, Dr. Adrien COLY invited the regional leadership to back the CWP in its efforts for consolidating the actions he has started with his team to strengthen the partnership, build new alliances and engage new fund-raising initiatives.

GWP Chair Oyun Sanjaasuren and GWP Technical Committee Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli participated in a UN General Assembly Water Dialogue and a Special Event on World Water Day, 22 March, in New York. Experts discussed how to improve integration and coordination of the UN's work on the water-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are inviting all GWP CEE Partners to the Annual Network Meeting of GWP Partners 2020, which takes place online on 21-22 October, under the theme ‘Bringing the Change’. On 7 October, GWP Chair Howard Bamsey was the keynote speaker in the second of a series of webinars organized by the Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) on the road towards the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit in 2022. He spoke to the topic of "Climate Change, Sustainable Development, and Investors: More Risks, More Opportunities through better Governance." His speech focused on how the world can deal with the potentially catastrophic risks of climate change by changing the pattern of investment in the global economy, towards climate-friendly activities.
