GWP-Med co-organised a Webinar on Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus in Practice – "Technical Solutions in the Mediterranean : Experience and Opportunities" on 21 July 2020, 13:30-15:00 CEST

In preparation for the upcoming GWP Network Meeting 2020, GWP-CAf organized a virtual meeting on October 16th with the participation of over 45 partners from Congo, Central Africa Republic, Cameroon, Chad and Sao Tome and Principe.

The Final AfriAlliance Conference will be held online from 28-30 October, and is hosted by the 21st WaterNet Symposium.

“Thinking of pastoral care and water policies may sound farfetched for water managers and civil engineers with whom I spend a professional life – but not so. The ways we discuss water policy decisions often closely mirror broader social and ethical decisions.” GWP Technical Committee Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli recently addressed experts from around the world in a workshop at the Pontifical Academy of Science in the Vatican City.

GWP and the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) collaborate on a storytelling initiative to make the voices of youth heard on water. Reflecting on the current times, with the world battling a health crisis, we asked youth around the world how the COVID-19 outbreak has changed their daily routines. This is the third and final instalment in the series.

In Bolivia, shifts towards the privatisation of water supply and sewage services caused strong dissatisfaction, resulting in the eruption of social conflict. Because of the severe dissatisfaction, action was taken to cancel the previous agreements and instead launch a forum where government representatives, social organizations, the private sector and municipalities participate to formulate of a new policy. This case illustrates the crucial importance of rooting policies with the public.

On May 23-25, 2017, the fourth south-south interregional water cooperation gathered GWP China, Central Asia and Caucasus, South Asia and South East Asia, four Regional Water Partnerships, in Pokhara, Nepal.
