GWP Central America has published two case studies on women in water management, as part of the implementation of GWP´s Gender Strategy. The studies are available in Spanish.

The below papers are proceedings papers from a workshop on the linkages between water and land in the emerging geopolitics of food. It was held in Pretoria 15 – 16 June 2015 by the International Land Coalition (ILC), Global Water Partnership (GWP) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI). 

The global LET conference is about insights into how pioneering science, technological innovation and leading practices shape the major transformation in water management that is underway. It is held 27-31 May in Nanjing, China.

During its statutory meetings held in Ouagadougou from 23 to 26 September, the Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) partners officially launched the implementation of the new GWP Strategy 2020-2025 in West Africa.

The UN theme of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD 2018) relates to gender equality and activism, building on global movements such as #metoo and #TimeIsNow. For the water community we translated this to “Time is now for equality in water access and management!” and followed it up by asking women in the GWP network “How can activism empower women in the water sector?” These issues were also raised in a Facebook Live session on 8 March together with GWP Partner Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

During the last months the Executive Secretariat coordinated the field missions carried out by the consultants of the AGRISTUDIO/ID SAHEL consortium in 4 Fouta Djalon countries from November 16 to December 04, 2021. The consultants’ firm had submitted their start-up report of the mission on the realization of a prospective diagnosis of the Fouta Djallon massif with the analysis of the opportunities and the proposal of the options/priorities of restoration of the degraded ecosystems of the Massif. This report was validated after some amendments by GWP-WA.
