Imminent Relaunch. The Global Water Partnership Mediterranean is seeking to hire an Expert/Company to provide Filming & Production of Videos for Events delivered by GWP-Med in the framework of the In the framework of Making Water Cooperation Happen in the Mediterranean’ (aka the Water Matchmaker) – project supported by Sida.

Building climate resilience into development across water-dependent is key to achieving long-term sustainability, but will demand strong cross-sectoral integration and coordination. This policy brief argues that building on the foundations of IWRM is an effective way to fast-track the integration of climate resilience in development planning. Policy briefs provide policy makers with information on water resources management. This brief was developed under the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP).

The 9th World Water Forum (WWF9) which is being held in Dakar from 22 to 27 March 2021 is an event for Africa and particularly the West African region. In order to contribute to a good preparation and participation of the region into the Forum, major regional institutional actors in Ouagadougou are working together to better coordinate the participation process of the region.

Since being adopted by the GWP network last year, the new GWP Strategy 2020-2025 – Mobilising for a Water Secure World – was launched at a series of events around the world throughout the second half of 2019. The strategy calls for urgent action on, and agile responses to, the world water crises.

The Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Niger in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, urban sanitation and sustainable development through the directorate of wildlife, hunting and protected areas is building a water reservoir for the wildlife of the W Park. The stock of 200 hundred thousand hectares has 30 water reservoirs of which only four are permanent i.e. they don’t totally dry up during the long dry hot season.

This article is part of a wider coverage of the “MENA Focus” events, a set of four regional sessions dedicated to the Middle East & North Africa, officially launched at the Stockholm World Water Week 2016, alongside the Regional Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) had been selected and serves as the overall coordinator for these “MENA Focus” events. The sessions were organized in partnership with a number of international regional institutions and organisations. “Seeking answers to the MENA water crisis” was the first out of the four sessions, held on the 30^th of August.

The CWP Niger has coordinated with the consultants to send data in the framework of the Mékrou Project and tackling some burning issues in relation with data collection in the country.

The session on “From Source to Delta: Collaboration with urban and agricultural stakeholders” was held on 4 December 2019 from 10.30-12 noon at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo, Sri Lanka.
