As part of the implementation of the activities of the Project "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin", the implementing partners met on 27 September 2019 in the conference room of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) to discuss the modalities for the implementation of the first activities of the Project.

The IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) in collaboration with the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) and partners are organising the 54th Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 54) in Mombasa, Kenya, on 27-29 January.

The Mono Basin Authority (MBA) is the latest river basin management instrument established in West Africa for the Mono River basin shared by Benin and Togo.

In the run up to the World Water Day 2016, GWP-CAf partners, like Cameroon Ministry of water and energy, private sector, NGOs and civil society organizations, organized the national water week 2016, in Yaoundé, which had as theme “water and jobs” and took place over seven days, from March 17-22, 2016.

 

Several events took place during the national week. Among which, there was a media workshop; two site visits, conducted, one to the wastewater treatment plant and the other to water treatment plant; a campaign for the dissemination of knowledge and legal text on water sector and sanitation; an exhibition fair; football and power walking and a forum on water jobs. All of these activities ended with a competition for a best poem written and cartoon on “water and jobs” for pupils of 5 schools in Yaounde.

GWP partners with more than 3,000 organisations that share its aims and values in tackling the sustainable development, management, and use of water resources. Partners share information and experiences, and draw on each other for advice and assistance

On March 27, 2016, GWP China Hunan, jointly with Hunan Provincial Department of Water Resources and Changsha University of Science & Technology, organized a saving water campaign in Changsha University of Science & Technology, in Changsha, Hunan Province.
