The 24th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP24), hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat, is taking place in from the 2nd to the 14th December 2018, Katowice, Poland.

River Basin Management 2019 is the 10th Conference in a series which marks the growing international interest in the planning, design and management of river basin systems. The event will cover all aspects of Hydrology, Ecology, Environmental Management, Flood Plains and Wetlands. It takes place in Alicante, Spain.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean’s (GWP-C’s) partner, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) will host its 2016 Conference and Exhibition from October 24^th – 28^th, 2016 in Trinidad. 

GWPSA will participate in a panel discussion and make a presentation on “Sharing of experiences on successful Water Conservation and Demand Management Programmes in other countries”. The discussion is a part of the sector policy dialogue on Water Conservation and Water Demand Management (WDM) that will be hosted by the Policy Unit under the Department of Water Services, South Africa, and will be held on Wednesday 16^th March, 2016 in Pretoria.

The triennial World Irrigation Forum (WIF) takes place 1-7 September in Bali, Indonesia. GWP South East Asia is participating in the event, and will launch the new 2020-2025 GWP Strategy, Mobilising for a Water Secure World.

This paper explores the relationship between the aims and instruments of the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD) and the principles of IWRM at the example of Central and Eastern Europe, where water management has been dominated by the WFD since these States became members of the EU. Technical Focus Papers are publications of the GWP Technical Committee that harness and share knowledge generated by GWP Partnerships.

A national workshop was held in Guatemala on 13-14 February to accelerate the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), as part of a global process to advance the Sustainable Development Goal on water (SDG 6). Guatemala is one of four pilot countries that have begun a government-led process to identify IWRM solutions as a means of advancing progress on the SDGs. This work is carried out through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, which is coordinated by GWP in close collaboration with the UN Environment-DHI Centre and UNDP Cap-Net.

Youth representatives from Ghar El Melh, some 60 Km north of Tunis gathered on 24 June 2019, to identify options for green employment in their home area, also interacting with local authorities responsible for promoting employability (The Employment Office of Utique). During the Workshop on“First Green Jobs”) participants enhanced their understanding on green economy and its role in sustainably managing natural resources while providing opportunities for jobs and entrepreneurship.
