GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. We are committed to our role as a neutral convener and respected for our focus on inclusiveness and sustainability.

GWP Regions

They share knowledge and learning across national boundaries and are expected to have an open, inclusive, and gender-sensitive policies for bringing together as wide a group of stakeholders as possible to solve water problems.

Training Journalists in Environmental Reporting

Journalists from Albania, Greece, Kosovo* and Montenegro attended a 2-day training** event in Lake Ohrid, in North Macedonia, to develop their capacities in environmental and water reporting, and learn about the 200.000 USD Lake Ohrid Pilot Activity under the GEF Drin Project.

CWP Burkina prepares the water and sanitation awards

The water awards is the last initiative of the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Burkina Faso. The aim of the Water and Sanitation Awards is to enable the identification of relevant actions in the water and sanitation sector, in order to acknowledge and honor the efforts of individuals and legal entities which are either at the base or contributed to the achievement of these actions. The ambition is to give visibility and promote water and sanitation as central to sustainable development in the country.

Gender Equity and Water-Social Responsibility

The Director of the National Water Agency of Brazil, Gisela Forattini, who is also a GWP Steering Committee member, introduced the GWP Gender Strategy at the Governmental Forum of Social Responsibility held on 18 September in Brazil.

Development of Stress Reduction Indicators and Environmental Status Indicators for the Drin Basin

The Global Water Partnership Mediterranean is seeking to hire an Expert (Group of Experts) to develop the Stress Reduction Indicators and Environmental Status Indicators for the Drin Basin in the framework of the GEF Project “Enabling Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Extended Drin River Basin”.

Agua, mujeres, y café en español: Con mucho entusiasmo las invitamos al primer evento en español de la Comunidad de Mujeres en Agua el próximo 8 de abril. En esta una reunión virtual -compartiendo un café- colegas de países de habla hispana intercambian opiniones sobre las oportunidades y desafíos de ser una mujer que trabaja en temas de agua. Será una gran oportunidad para conocer colegas mujeres de diferentes partes del mundo y con intereses y habilidades muy diversas.
