Gender equity and women’s empowerment in water resources management is one of the cornerstones of the Dublin-Rio principles on which the GWP network is founded, and is accepted as one of the essential pillars to poverty eradication and sustainable development.

BRATISLAVA, January 15, 2018 – Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe is proud to announce that a new international initiative pairing young water advocates with policymakers has been selected for funding by the European Union's Erasmus+ program.

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) welcomes offers from Company/Institute/Institution or Consortium for the provision of services for the surveillance monitoring in the framework of the development of the Lake Ohrid Basin Management Plan, that is an activity conducted in the framework of the Global Environment Facility supported Project “Enabling transboundary cooperation and integrated water resources management in the extended Drin River Basin” (GEF Drin Project).

Several processes that place water at the center of the development are underway worldwide (IWRM, MDGs, SDGs ...).

At the level of West Africa, ECOWAS as the main political body for development, has undertaken, among other actions, the creation of the Permanent Framework for Coordination and Monitoring (PFCM), and the development of the Regional Water Policy in West Africa (PREAO).

The water sector stakeholders in Central Africa participated in a regional consultation meeting held in Douala, (Cameroon) within the context of the presentation of the Central Africa’s draft consultation report on “drinking water and sanitation for all”, for approval,in the preparation for the upcoming 7^th World Water Forum. Read more

Three IDMP CEE initiatives were developed into case studies for ISEPEI.

This year, GWP’s annual Network Meeting for Partners has been conducted for the first time in a “Follow-the-Sun” format. The objective being to engage as many of the network Partners as possible in a meaningful way, while keeping cost at bay, and also to make sure everyone who wanted could participate in their own language.
