On 10 October in Slovenia a National Consultation Dialogue on Drought took place for a third time. The event was organised by the Slovenian Environment Agency (ARSO) and Global Water Partnership Slovenia in the framework of the Integrated Drought Management Programme in Central and Eastern Europe (IDMP CEE). 

14th International Conference "Europe-INBO 2016" on implementation of the European Water Directives took place on 9 - 22 October 2016 in Lourdes, France.

This year's World Water Week takes place in Stockholm 1-6 September 2013.

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire an agroeconomist in the framework of the WACDEP project for the activity "Climate change integration in territorial planning for integrated natural resources management in the Douimis Basin, Bizerte". 

This article is part of a wider coverage of the “MENA Focus” events, a set of four regional sessions dedicated to the Middle East & North Africa, officially launched at the Stockholm World Water Week 2016, alongside the Regional Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) had been selected and serves as the overall coordinator for these “MENA Focus” events. The sessions were organized in partnership with a number of international regional institutions and organisations. “Informing the SDGs through the Arab MDG+ Initiative” was the third out of the four sessions, held on the 31st of August.

Food security is considered one of the greatest challenges currently facing humanity. Water is a crucial natural resource in food production, and for this reason food and water experts met in Costa Rica. The aim was to establish a dialogue between the two sectors.

Mr. COMBARI Diadonné Amidou, the mayor of Matiacoali is very enthusiastic with the material delimitation of the route for the cattle transiting from Niger to Benin. Every year the transhumance creates lots of conflicts between cattle breeders and farmers leading at time loss of life. The Prefect of Matiacoali is more specific on “the issue of conflicts between these two groups is a crucial reality in this area. The tribunal of the department has registered an average number of 18 conflicts between August 18 when I started service here and December 2016. The delimitation of these corridors for the benefit of the population will contribute to reduce drastically the conflicts”.

GWP CACENA participated in the 2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, on 19-20 May 2013, on the theme of “Water Security and Water-related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment.” The meeting was organized by the Royal Thai Government in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) and supporting regional and international organizations.
