In 2000, GWP developed the IWRM ToolBox. Broadly defined, the ToolBox consists of a wide range of materials such as case studies and reference documents dealing with water resource management.

Myanmar Water Partnership together with Irrigation Department (ID), Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (MOAI) of the Government of Union of Myanmar, with sponsorship support from Global Water Partnership - South East Asia (GWP-SEA) held a dialogue on Water-Food-Energy Security as a Major Contributing Constituent for Sustainable National Development in Myanmar.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) together with the University of Dundee will offer scholarships for 30 participants to undertake a module in International Water Law, in Dundee from June 10^th - 21^st, 2013.

The United Nations post-2015 Development Agenda was adopted by Member States at the UN General Assembly in September 2015. GWP is committed to support implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6, which is dedicated to water. To help countries implement the SDGs, GWP set up a SDG Preparedness Facility (SDG-PF). 

This paper argues that water security in the 21st century requires leaders, practitioners, and societies to continue their journey of taking an integrated approach to water resources management. Moreover, it argues the need to expand our views on how this can best be done—to make a difference at the local level, in river basins and cities. It is a Perspectives Paper, meant to incite a discussion on important issues related to water and development.

Agricultural irrigation uses 70-75% of global freshwater withdrawals and up to 95% in South and Central Asia. These withdrawals are expected to increase as the appetite for water-intensive foods grows in rising-income nations. This briefing note lays out several aspects of sustainable water management for agriculture and food security. Briefing notes are two-page summaries on selected topics. They are prepared by GWP’s Global Secretariat and its partners.

Water Demand Management (WDM) has emerged as a key issue of sustainable development in the Mediterranean. This approach comprises a set of measures intended to increase the technical, social, economic, environmental, and institutional efficiency of various water uses. This paper captures the experience gathered in the Mediterranean region with managing water scarcity through WDM. Technical Focus Papers are publications of the GWP Technical Committee that harness and share knowledge generated by GWP Partnerships.

Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) is looking for a Fundraising Consultant (short term).

The Regional Coordinator, Mr. Dam MOGBANTE and Network Officer, mr. Manuel FULCHIRON made a mission in Accra, Ghana where they met with the regional office for Africa of the UN Food and Agriculture organization (FAO). The meeting aimed at informing and trying to secure partnership for the nexus « food security, water, food and ecosystem ». GWP shared its experience in particular on the country dialogs undertaken in 2015 in the context of the UN CFS work stream on water and food security as well as the envisaged follow up on water and food security in Africa.

 

Nine countries of Southeast Asia sit together in a workshop to share and discussed about water financing in region.This workshop took place in Yangon, Myanmar on 3^rd October 2013.

The goals of the workshop are to understand the financing frameworks for water resources management and development, to generate information regarding the level of public investments for WRM initiatives, and to propose potential financing schemes and mechanisms to increase the level of WRM financing.
