El Fondo Verde del Clima (FVC) es el único órgano de los mecanismos de financiación de la Convención Marco de Naciones Unidas para el Cambio Climático (CMNUCC) que se dedica exclusivamente a abordar la crisis climática. El FVC tiene el mandato específico de promover un desarrollo impulsado por el país, resiliente al clima y bajo en carbono. Se espera que este se convierta en el principal canal a través del cual fluirá la financiación pública internacional para el clima a lo largo del tiempo.

GWP’s 25th anniversary celebrations were one of the main features of the 2021 Annual GWP Network meeting held virtually on 1 and 2 December 2021, under the theme “Leading Change and Innovation through our Partners”.
The wastewater and sewage sludge management sector will soon be booming in Benin, with the new reforms underway in the sanitation sector. To this end, the country has equipped itself with sludge treatment plants that meet the standards.
The SADC Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus Governance Framework, that was developed by SADC with technical assistance from GWPSA, was approved in a joint meeting held by the Ministers responsible for Energy and Water from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) on the 30th October 2020 through video conferencing, hosted by the Republic of Mozambique.
Rescheduled from October 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CFS 47 will be held virtually, and will seek to advance the CFS mandate and approved programme of work.
The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) is an international conference on central issues of vital importance for global agricultural and food policies. It is held annually in Berlin, however the 2021 edition will be held online on 18-22 January. The theme is "How to Feed the World in Times of Pandemics and Climate Change". GWP's Julienne Roux will be one of the expert speakers on Monday 18 January.
From January to May 2021, the Mekrou Phase 2 Niger Project management team (PMT) has continued with the implementation of planned activities including contract signing with the consultant firms that were selected at the end of the bid for tender to carry out two main studies in the project implementation zones and start of the study processes.
