Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa in partnership with Nile IWRM Net/Cap-Net and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) are organising a training on applying Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) tools for Drought Risk Management. The training will take place in Uganda on 11th -13th July 2017.
On June 1, 2017, GWP China, jointly with its partners, chaired the SDG6 webinar inception in Chinese language at the invitation of the Cap-Net UNDP based on close relationship of GWP with UNDP and UNEP.
Anna Tari, Kristóf Stefán and Nikolett Szabó from Szent László Grammar School, Budapest won Hungarian Final of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize on 20 May with a project „Tanks of Water”.
El Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas y el Presidente del Grupo del Banco Mundial convocaron un Grupo de Alto Nivel sobre el Agua (HLPW) en enero de 2016. Uno de sus principales objetivos es desarrollar un conjunto de principios compartidos para motivar y alentar a los gobiernos, las empresas y la sociedad civil a Considerar los múltiples valores del agua y guiar la incorporación transparente de estos valores en la toma de decisiones de los formuladores de políticas, las comunidades y las empresas. Se ha preparado un documento conceptual, "Valorar el agua: preámbulo y principios", como documento de discusión para consulta con las partes interesadas. Debido a su amplia y diversa red multipartita, se ha pedido a Global Water Partnership (GWP) que facilite las consultas regionales para apoyar el trabajo del HLPW en su contribución a su Plan de Acción (alineado con SDGs y otros acuerdos de alto nivel). Estas consultas crearán conciencia y examinarán la pertinencia a nivel regional / nacional de las perspectivas mundiales, y aportarán insumos, opciones y recomendaciones que mejorarán las resoluciones de la HLPW.
On May 23-25, 2017, the fourth south-south interregional water cooperation gathered GWP China, Central Asia and Caucasus, South Asia and South East Asia, four Regional Water Partnerships, in Pokhara, Nepal.

In the lead-up to COP 21, youth from more than 20 countries decided to be part of this crucial global debate. Supported by numerous partners, they issued a White Paper containing more than 50 recommendations based on realities from the field from all continents.
GWP Central America is part of the organising committee for the sub-regional process leading up to the 8th World Water Forum, to be held in Brasilia, March 2018. In this capacity, GWP Central America, together with GWP Caribbean, held an online consultation to identify cross-cutting themes and topics that will be discussed at the Forum next year. The results were presented at the 2nd Stakeholders Consultation Meeting in Brasilia, on April 26-27.
