Global Water Partnership, Central Africa (GWP-CAf) held its 14th Steering Committee (SC) meeting virtually on November 12 - 13, 2020. The special steering committee meeting was attended by twelve of the fourteen GWP-CAf SC members and the entire GWP-CAf secretariat.

GWP is partnering with Community of Women in Water (CWiW), a global network seeking to support women working to solve water issues.

In 2020, Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as the custodian agency, which coordinates reporting on SDG 6.5.1 indicator, together with UNEP-DHI Centre and Cap-Net, operates the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, to support 60 countries in implementing the survey. The 2021 edition of the United Nations Climate Change Conference - also known as COP26 - takes place in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 31 October to 12 November. The event brings countries together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. As in previous years, GWP will be active at the COP to bring water insights to the climate agenda.

In response to a request made by the Urban Council of Douala during the June 2020 GWP-Cameroon Steering committee meeting, GWP-Cameroon with the support of GWPO is working on a Source to Sea approach project to better manage plastic waste to ensure healthy rivers in Cameroon’s economic capital, Douala.

The online course on Gender and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) will be relaunched on August 1.

GWP-Med, as key partner to the Cairo Water Week since its launch in 2018, co-organised and facilitated a day-event and two sessions, giving a strong message for enhanced focus on facilitating investments in the water sector, the role of gender in water diplomacy and mobilizing Young Professionals in the fight to meet the SDGs.
