Training workshop for the members of the Association of Professional Drainers of Benin

In order to contribute to a good use of the infrastructures, of treatment of the sludge of the station of Abomey-Calavi, the framework of dialogue of the non-State actors of the sector of water and sanitation (CANEA) supported by NIYEL through the project Sanitize the Waste and Liquid, organized a training workshop for the emptying workers gathered within the Association of the Professional waste-pickers (AVIPRO) of Benin.

New Report Offers Solutions to Water and Climate Challenges

Last year the global pandemic exposed how current governance systems are inadequately prepared to address systemic challenges that threaten humanity. Better preparedness can make communities more resilient to large scale threats. On 2 June, GWP launched a report, “Mobilising Change: 10 years of climate resilient water investments”, which is a contribution to implementing transformative development to solve climate change challenges to water security.

GWP-WA supports Togo to update the framework law on the environment

The Togolese Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources (MERF) in collaboration with Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) organised from 05 to 08 July 2022, the workshop for the restitution, consolidation and validation of the results of the work of the first meeting of experts on the updating of the framework law on the environment in Togo in Kpalimé, Togo.

Learning Exchange Gender mainstreaming in WRM

A Learning exchange on gender mainstreaming in water resources management (WRM) was organised on September 16th, 2021, to present the findings of the study on that topic. The event was also used as a platform to better understand and discuss how to advance on the key enablers and overcome common bottlenecks for gender mainstreaming in WRM, for those working on SDG 6.5 and SDG 5; and to understand the need for support from national governments and other stakeholders to advance in this key area for sustainable development.
