GWP-WA chair, Prof. Amadou Hama MAIGA and Executive Secretary, M. Armand HOUANYE made a working visit in Niamey, Niger from 9 to 13 November 2020 to inform project stakeholders, exchange with partners on the priorities and next steps in the implementation of project, discuss potential synergies to be developed in the implementation of the project and other ongoing and future initiatives in Niger and the sub-region and develop a roadmap for the strengthening of the governance of the Country Water Partnership of Niger.

The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme was implemented in Mali through the initiative calle "SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TARGET 6.5 OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL (SDG) 6 ON WATER MANAGEMENT IN MALI." A collaborative action between the Country Water Partnership of Mali (PNE MALI) and the Ministry of Energy and Water through the National Directorate of Hydraulics (DNH).

To commemorate the 2022 International Women’s Day which is celebrated under the theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, GWP -Central Africa spotlights three women who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all. We asked them about what inspired them as women, to join the fight against climate change in their different scope of work plus their contributions so far to climate adaptation. GWP-Med is leading the communication and dissemination component in this new H2020 project which aims to close the gap between science and policy in natural resources management. The REXUS project is bringing the Water-Energy-Food Nexus concept to an operational level as a tool for analysis, planning and decision-making, through an innovative integrated approach applied in 5 pilot sites across Europe and Latin America.
In celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day commemorated under the theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, the female staff of the regional secretariat of GWP-Central Africa, took part in a training on good practices of vegetative propagation in agroforestry to promote climate adaptation and build resilience.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will be offering two (2) capacity building courses targeted at Caribbean children to commemorate World Toilet Day 2021.
