From July 8 to 13, 2025, a five-day study tour to Western Georgia was organized for a Turkmen delegation comprising government officials, biodiversity experts, and representatives from environmental NGOs.

World Water Day 2025 focuses on glacier preservation, emphasising the need for global action to manage meltwater sustainably and reduce emissions, securing vital water resources for the future.
In Mid-July, 2025, GWP China, in collaboration with its local partner, the Hydrological Survey and Research Center of Hebei Province, has been making preparations for the establishment of the Groundwater Committee of Global Water Partnership China in Hebei Province. The Hydrological Survey and Research Center of Hebei Province will serve as the host institute for the Committee.

Integrating knowledge & practice for drought resilience: Following up on the first High-level meeting on National Drought Policies in 2013, the Drought Resilience +10 Conference aims at scaling up and accelerating drought action on the ground. It will bring together countries, experts and practitioners to review progress and lessons learnt in drought management to explore and define a joint way forward towards a more drought resilient world.
On 8 October 2024, nearly 300 members of the GWP Network came together virtually for the annual Network Meeting. This important event brought Partners from 91 countries to reflect on achievements and discuss the development of GWP’s 2026-2030 Strategy. It also introduced a new voting mechanism, designed to enhance Partner participation, which will soon be piloted.
