For the second part in our series of partners speaking about why their communities should submit their change journeys to the Water ChangeMaker Awards, we spoke with WaterAid’s Dr Virginia Newton-Lewis, Director of Policy and Advocacy at WaterAid Sweden, highlighting the role of the WASH community.
The Benin WACDEP-G team together with the CWP hold on 7 December 2021 a workshop to validate the report on the development of a shared vision on gender transformative approach in Benin. The event took place in Grand Popo with main partners including the Directorate general of environment and climate (DGEC), the FNEC, the NDA, focal points of various ministries, CSOs in gender promotion and consultants.
From November 29 to December 03 in Porto-Novo, Benin, the Country Water Partnership, and the WACDEP-G in Benin organized a national training workshop for key actors on how to access the GCF funding.
We work very closely as knowledge brokers with policy and decision-makers to walk the journey with them of implementing climate action, says CDKN Director Dr Shehnaaz Moosa: “When the Water ChangeMaker Awards came up, it seemed like an automatic fit for CDKN to be a knowledge partner”.
The Water ChangeMaker Awards are a new initiative that seeks to highlight experiences in the way water decisions have built climate resilience. The initiative was launched on World Water Day 2020, March 22.
